Overview:

Build up internal Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) capabilities for analyzing the durability of engine mechanical system dynamics, including valvetrain, cranktrain, and geartrain

•Perform FEA of components, systems, and multi-body mechanism for durability (ANSYS preferred)

•Generate all necessary boundary conditions and dynamic loads to support CAE task

•Collaboration with performance engineers, provide design direction to design team, work with test engineers to refine analytic tools and resolve issues for both prototype and production programs •Prepare and present reports on findings, develop work instructions to ensure repeatability, and mentor colleagues on best practices for effectively using the analytic tools

Primary Skills:

•BSME required, advanced degree desirable

•5+ years automotive experience with application of CAE techniques to promote the design of engine components and systems

•Working knowledge of mechanical system dynamics and vibration, fundamentals of rotor-dynamics, as applied in numerical methods to solve practical engineering problems in commercial software codes

•Practical application of FEA methods for components, systems, and multi-body mechanisms

•User level experience with computer aided design (CAD) systems, Pro-E a plus

•Good communication skills, team player mentality, the ability to learn in a fast paced environment

•Passionate about your work and capable of performing at a high level with minimal guidance
