Overview:

As the Engineering Project Manager you will lead a cross functional development team in the delivery of multiple electrical and electronic components along with HVAC system/integration projects acting as interface between Platform/Product Engineering, Marketing, Industrial Design, EHSA Engineering and External Suppliers/Partners. Ensure high quality demands on the execution, budget, delivery and coordination of projects of the program will positively be achieved.

 

 

  • Lead, supervise and review the work of team to ensure the efficient and timely completion of specific project milestones
  • Manage the program schedule, including task and resource planning
  • Develop program and yearly budget estimates, report on budget status
  • Lead the change review board that approves scope changes, addresses defects, and plans releases
  • Coordinate engineering activities between different functional groups, including suppliers and partners
  • Work to support integration of products and systems with all vehicle platforms
  • Assist in the development of product plan
  • Manage hardware/software development and delivery for products and systems
  • Works with Platform/Product Engineering and Application teams on clear deliverables
  • Review progress of projects and provides frequent team progress updates to stakeholders
  • Make recommendations to peers and direct manager based on sound engineering principles, practices and judgment pertaining to specific engineering problems as a contribution to the overall engineering and manufacturing objectives
  • Incorporate engineering safety standards, methodologies and global product development processes into all aspects of project
  • Prepare reports consistent with program requirements, and recommends processes unique to expertise

 

Primary Skills:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years professional engineering background in product development
  • A minimum of 5 years leading electrical component, embedded electronic system development
  • A minimum of 3 years managing software release schedules
  • A minimum of 3 years requirement documentation experience
  • A minimum of 3 system or component specification authoring experience
  • A minimum of 3 years Microsoft Project experience
  • A minimum of 3 years supplier management experience.
  • Experience with HVAC system/integration projects

 

 

  • Requirement management tool experience (e.g. DOORS)
  • Application Lifecycle Management tool experience (e.g. Polarion)
  • Change management software experience (e.g. ClearQuest, Bugzilla)
  • Repository software (subversion, Git)
  • Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, Construction, or Agriculture industry experience.
  • CAN based on road and off-road vehicle EE architectures and system implementations
  • Virtual prototyping MIL / SIL / HIL principles programming C(++) code, and structured software programming
  • Experience with CAN bus, SAE J1939, KWP2000, UDS protocols

 

 

Secondary Skills:

  • Industry certification or professional license (e.g. PMP, PE)
  • Specific functional safety experience in the implementation at engineering level with ISO 13849 and ISO 25119
  • Experience managing people, both direct report and indirect report
  • Development of statement of work and Purchase orders for engineering services
  • Understanding of financial accounting principles
  • Competent and aware of current state-of-the-art EE technologies and is eager to stay expert in his/her domain of technology

 

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
